Last year, many RCFE owners thought twice about selling due to the onset of the health crisis. This year, however, many are beginning to regain their confidence when it comes to selling safely. 

Now that a majority of residents have received their vaccinations, numerous RCFE owners we’ve spoken with are planning to sell their RCFEs this Spring.  Demand is high for RCFEs, and there are many buyers who are interested in buying the RCFE home, as well, as a hedge against inflation, as an investment, and for a variety of other reasons.

The latest Home Purchase Sentiment Index (HPSI) by Fannie Mae shows that 57% of consumers believe now is a good time to sell. 

Demand for profitable, fairly-priced RCFEs is high due to the recession-and-pandemic resiliency of senior housing, fueled by low mortgage rates.  For RCFE sellers, high home prices, challenges faced during the pandemic, burnout and a desire to retire are among the most cited reasons to sell.

Spring is often a time when many owners decide to sell. While this is obviously not a normal year since the pandemic is still very much upon us, we are optimistic that many RCFE owners will “pull the trigger” and decide to place their RCFEs on the market. 

With so few RCFEs available to buy, your RCFE will be more likely to rise to the top of an eager purchaser’s wish list in this competitive market.
